Wrong glass, wrong impression
Latvian National Museum of Art (LNMA) is one of the most beautiful and significant architectural monuments in Riga as well as one of the greatest art museums in Europe. The museum was founded in 1869 and its collection contains more than 50 000 valuable works of art, which together document the development of art in the Baltic region from the mid-18th century to the present day.
On February 2013, after serving to visitors more than 100 years without an overhaul, the main building of the Latvian National Museum of Art was closed for public due to the reconstruction and restoration works. During this time the building was entirely renovated, restored and enlarged.
During this time the building was entirely renovated, restored and enlarged. It did not lose any of its historical atmosphere, but instead it became larger (by more than 3500 square metres) and more contemporary. A wide underground exposition hall was obtained, the attic in the building’s cupola was converted as well as many other improvements were done. Besides now the museum visitors can enjoy the terrace with a view of the marvellous capital city Riga.

We are always inspired by the creativity of framers who use Artglass in their work and share it with us on Instagram. We truly appreciate everyone who tags us and shares how Artglass helps artworks shine.
Take a look at some framing projects that show how color and Artglass work beautifully together.
And while framers around the world inspire us with their colorful creativity, we also want to share what’s new from our side — two fresh shadowboxes designed to showcase Artglass in action.

Think of it as haute couture for your artwork – top quality, made to last and loved by professionals
It’s a tailored solution! Thoughtfully engineered to meet the needs of the world’s most demanding conservators, curators, and framers. From museum masterpieces to personal heirlooms, it delivers the perfect balance of protection and presentation.
Much like a bespoke suit, it’s crafted to fit perfectly – not only in function, but in form. Every layer, every feature is intentional, refined, and made to let the artwork take center stage. Because when it comes to showcasing what matters most, only a truly refined material will do.
On the left, other anti-reflective acrylic dulls the view, trapping light and creating an unwanted haze that stands between you and the art. The colors lose their depth, the details fade into obscurity, and what should be a masterpiece turns into a mere shadow of itself.
On the right, Artglass Lifetime Acrylic changes everything. The glare disappears, the colors intensify, and the details emerge as they were meant to be seen — clear, pure, and uninterrupted.
Frame it once, protect it for a lifetime… that's the Artglass promise.
